Blitz chess in Munich 4

Blitz, a few minutes a side with a small increment per move, has two homes in the Munich tournament calendar. The Caissa Center plays a monthly blitz of many short rounds on a Tuesday evening and, every two months, a Saturday Blitz-Masters with even more rounds; an earlier weekly blitz and rapid series there has given way to these monthly events.

The district's blitz individual championship is hosted each winter by one of its clubs and played in double rounds. Club events add more: Schachclub Haar 1931 held a memorial blitz tournament in early September, and SG Aschheim/Feldkirchen/Kirchheim a blitz event at the end of that month; the club entries mention such evenings wherever a page does.
